On Marin Art Day (Sunday, January 18th at 2:30pm), join Chandler Gallery for an intimate gallery tour and art talk with exhibiting artist Jessica Niello-White. Niello-White’s work is currently on view as part of Golden Thread, a two-person exhibition featuring the Berkeley-based painter alongside Los Angeles-based artist Greta Waller.
Inspired by the ancient myth of the “golden thread”—the guiding thread that led Theseus through the labyrinth, and the thread of life spun by the Fates—the exhibition uses this metaphor as a way to consider the subtle, often hidden unity that runs through an artist’s body of work.
Together, their figurative paintings form a quiet rendezvous of shared experience: works shaped by their lives as women, as mothers, and as painters, unfolding across both recent and earlier pieces that reflect the evolving arc of their practices.
